FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

This FAQ applies to lifestyle/standard portrait sessions, including seniors, graduates, couples, families, branding, and events.

BOOKING & AVAILABILITY

How do I check availability?

The best way to confirm availability is by submitting an inquiry. I also occasionally share schedule updates on my Instagram “Availability” highlight.

What is a retainer fee and why is it required?

A retainer fee is a non-refundable deposit that secures your session date. Until the retainer is received, your date remains open to other clients.
For additional edited images beyond the package allowance and our agreed-upon terms, please consult the ADD-ONS section on the Pricing and Packaging page.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept credit/debit cards and bank transfer.

PLANNING & SESSION DAY

Do you help with posing?

Yes! I’ll guide you throughout the session with natural prompts and direction so nothing feels stiff or awkward. No modeling experience is needed.

Do you help with outfits or styling?

Absolutely. I’m happy to offer outfit suggestions and guidance during the planning process.

Can I bring props, family, or friends?

Props are welcome, and you’re welcome to bring a friend or family member for support.
If multiple graduates would like photos together, a joint session add-on is available.

What happens if I’m running late?

No worries — we’ll simply make the most of the remaining time. Session end times stay the same to respect the schedule.

What if the weather is bad?

If the forecast isn’t favorable, I’ll reach out to discuss rescheduling. Final weather decisions can be made up to 24 hours before, or as late as 2 hours before the session.

IMAGES & DELIVERY

When will I receive my photos?

You’ll receive a proofing gallery within 12 business hours after your session.
Final edited images are delivered within 10 days after your selections are completed.

How do I choose which photos get edited?

You’ll select your favorites directly from the proofing gallery. Only selected images are edited and delivered.

Can I get the RAW/unedited photos?

RAW/unedited files aren’t delivered as final images, as editing is an essential part of my work. You’ll still be able to view all images in your proofing gallery before making selections.

How long will my gallery be available?

Your online gallery will remain active for 2 months from delivery. I recommend downloading your images promptly.

Can I share my photos online?

Yes! You’re welcome to share your images on social media and personal websites. Please credit or tag SNAPS WITH JOY when possible.

Do you offer prints?

Yes. Prints and products can be ordered directly through your online gallery.

LOCATIONS & TRAVEL

Where are you based, and do you travel?

I’m based in Houston, Texas, and travel for sessions. Travel fees may apply for locations outside the Houston area — please see the Pricing page for details.

SCHEDULING & RESCHEDULING

When should I book a senior or graduation session?

For May graduates, late March through early May is ideal.
For December graduates, late October through early December works best. Availability is first-come, first-served.

Can I reschedule my session?

Yes. Please notify me by email at least 7 days before your session to request a reschedule.
